Air by CC² Inc (AbC) was founded by William Chapman, PhD in response to his experiences working in the air testing industry to provide proven solutions to problems in indoor air. He has PhD in Chemistry from Penn State and completed postdoctoral studies at Columbia University. AbC is built on his education and years of industrial experience, mainly developing new and improved methods for point-of-care (i.e. onsite) testing. In previous employment, he became frustrated with the lack of a proven solution to problems that his lab found, especially in the home indoor air setting as well as with the quality of the point-of-care samplers that are in use today.
Our analytical laboratory is located in Deerfield Beach, FL in a facility that was built-out specifically for its purpose. We have a central laboratory with separate shipping/receiving and office areas. We have two separate HVAC systems controlling the temperature of our laboratory to exactly 25ᵒC. Did you know that the density of water is exactly 0.9970 g/mL at 25ᵒC? This is one of the many little details that we consider, the sum of which allow us to provide you with the highest-quality measurement services available.
For customer problems that require the use of analytical expertise that we don't have in-house, we have established a working relationship with the Shimadzu Center for Advanced Analytical Chemistry at the University of Texas at Arlington (SCAAC). Through this collaboration we're able to identify unknown substances in customer samples, helping to solve a variety of real-world problems. For example, we’ve identified malondialdehyde as being a significant air pollutant in a home that has been treated with excess ozone for controlling mold growth.

We are developing affordable solutions to problems in indoor air that we can deliver worldwide, by creating products that are compact, inexpensive to ship, and room temperature stable with target shelf lives of 1 year or more. Use of these air samplers will imporve health and well-being by decreasing occupational exposure to toxic chemicals and improve indoor air quality in homes. Our air purifiers are designed to be inexpensive and fully functional without the use of electricity, making clean indoor air truly available to all.
